BrittiCares was founded by Jamie, Shirell & Brittiana Renee Henderson.

Jamie & Shirell Henderson are the proud parents of Brittiana Henderson, and three other children, Samiyyah, KaRonn, and Jaylen. They are committed to running BrittiCares, and have continued to make a positive impact and difference in the lives of other children battling cancer and their families.

CHILDHOOD CANCER FACTS

Cancer is the second leading cause of death among children between ages 1 to 14 years in the United States; accidents are the most frequent cause of death in this age group. Cancer remains the number one disease killer of America's children – more than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Asthma and Aids combined.

The most common cancers in children (aged 1 to 14 years) are leukemia (particularly acute lymphocytic leukemia), brain and other nervous system cancers, soft tissue sarcomas, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and renal (Wilms) tumors.

One in 330 children will develop cancer by age 20. Each school day, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer.

Over the past 25 years, there have been significant improvements in the 5 year relative survival rate for many childhood cancers.

Although the 5 year survival rate is steadily increasing, one quarter of children will die 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
